The Colchester Murder.
[By Telegraph.] Wellingtox, Nov. 13. Arthur Blatch, alias Lilly white, was again before the Magistrate's Court to-day charged with the murder of Alfred Welch, of Colchester, England, in December, 1893. Mr Skerrett, for the defence, claimed that the papers found on accused were inconsistent with their possessor being Blatch. Henry Hopkins, of Levin, gave evidence that accused told him he was in London at the time of the Tooley Street fire in December, 1893, and left England in .1894. He also said he had been caretaker at gardens in some town in England. Another witness testified to accused being a good deal in the company of a woman whom she knew to have come from Colchester, and who had returned to England. Accused was remanded till next Monday for further evidence.
