WESTRALIA VOTES FEDERATION SYDNEY, Aug. 1. The Government have nominated Mr Copeland to succeed Sir J. Salamons on the Pacific Cable Board. Victoria has agreed, but Queensland wishes Sir H. Tozer to fill the vacancy. PERTH, Aug. 1. There was great excitement and interest throughout the colony yesterday over the Federal referendum. The streets of the city and mining towns weie thronged. Though the returns are not complete yet they are sufficient to place the issue beyond doubt— Yes, 37,326 ; no, 15,752.
