Park School
The hobby show, organised by the staff and pupils cf thS Park School, opened in the Z°alandia Ha l on Wednesday, terminated most sucicsafu'ly yesterday evening. The large hall was tastefully decorated and the variety and quantity of the work displayed in the numerous booths was astonishing Youthful industry had occupied itself with all kinds of material and art. There were models of ships and steamers, drawings, paintings, household pets nsatly housed, and piles of need'ework, fancy and plain. Business went briskly forward by tho efforts of persuasive lassies and lads aid the proceeds should materially assist the school. The proceedings were varied by an exhibition of bayonet drill by a squad of navals under Lieut. Thomson, while one of the pupils, Daisy Craig, showed what a va'uable physical exercise clubswinging could bs made.- Mr Sylvester performed a number of clever tricks which pleased and puzzled the assemblage, and Mr E. W. Wright greatly pleased with his rendering of tho “ Sons of the Sea ” —the Navals being grouped on the stags during the song. It is expected that after expenses ara paid there will be a clear profit of about £2O.
