At the Hawkes Bay meeting the Trial Handicap was won by Paney, paying £lO Ils ; Maiden Hurdles by Awahuri, £7 ; Spring Handicap by Sea Horse, £5 Ils; Nursery Handicap by Renown, £6 ; Handicap Hurdles by Torpina, £1 15s; Welter by Hempie, £lO.
The voting by country clubs for two members to represent them on the Metropolitan Committee resulted in the return of Messrs H. Craig and John Edmond. The other candidate was Mr A. J. Gibbs, of Gore.
