School Committee Elections

Monday, 24th April. North Invercargill. — Nine householders.attended the meeting. The reporb and balance sheet were considered satisfactory, a balance of £4 being available to commence another year. The new committee are—Messrs J. ,H. Kissell (chairman and treasurer), A. Garmson (secretary), Jas. Anderson, Walker, A. Brandford, Alfred Bloomfield, and Wood worth. Oteramjka. —The householders’ meeting was but sparsely attended. The outgoing committee gave a highly satisfactory account of the yeai’s work. A school and had been erected; the old building made part of the residence, the grounds ’ravelled, etc., and a credit balance was eft of £2 12s Id. The new committee are Messrs W. L. Kerr, James Wilson, Wm. Timpany, James Lawson (chairman), John Campbel), Alfred Phillips, and Collin Campbell. Edendale.— Some 16 householders were present and elected Messrs H. Marshall (chairman), H. Pattinson, R. Blackley, R. Craig, G. Faris, G. Conland, and J. Dempster. The year’s income was £26 13s lOd, and the expenditure £l5 8s 7d. Wyndham. —The meeting of householders was meagrely attended. The chairman (Mr W. R. F. Fraser) read the' annual report, which showed a satiefactory state of affairs throughout. The new committee are Messrs D. F. Bremner, John Hayes, James Kirkland, D. Bogue, T. A. Connor, W. R. F. Fraser, E. Waters, W. J. Marsh. Balfoub. —From the account given by Mr Macpherson, chairman, it appeared that of the £l4 odd received from the Board, £ll goes for cleaning, the other £3 for firing and incidental expense?. Of the proceeds of the last concert the committee spent £7 in books, £5 in sending the children to the seaside, and £3 15s for kindergarten apparatus and trenching gardens and had a balance of £2 12s 2d. The new committee are Messrs W. Cowie (chairman), J. A. Mills (secretary), Robt. Grant (treasurer), John Macpherson, F. Bryce, P. Condon, T. Batchelor.
