Inconsiderate Economy
TO THE EDITOR. Sib, —The railway regulations are framed with numerous conditions that secure _ the department against claims for loss of time, great inconvenience, eto., otherwise there might be some heavy draws on their exchequer. To-night (Wednesday) I, with others, had to submit to the inconvenience and annoyance of waiting at a wayside station, within twenty miles of town, for over an hour for the last train on the eastern line to town. It was a bitterly cold night, and I was really thankful at last when the train pulled up. On enquiry I was informed that the train bad been delayed for the Gore cycling sports, and yet no notification was given in the town papers. As there were probably others as ignorant of the change as myself, I think that in future the department should show more consideration for the health and comfort of the travelling public. I am> &0., Passenger.
