Cricket
The Southland team defeated the Arrow Club on Christmas and Queenstown on Monday. At both places the visitors were hospitably entertained, and, the weather being beautiful, the trip was thoroughly enjoyed. Following were the scores in each match :—

In Arrow’s first innings Dalrymple took 5 wickets ior 3 runs and Robertson 5 for 5 but in the second the visitors’ bowling was severely punished. Illingwood was the most successful trunaler for the home team.
