The Hawkes Bay Flood
RECOVERY OF BODIES.

Napier, April 27.
The trawler Eudon, when fishing about seven miles from the coast, picked up two bodies floating amidst tie&ris and dead animals. They were much mutilated by fishes and the features were unrecognisable, but by the clothing they have been identified as those of J. Rose and H. Brierley, two of the rescue party lost last Friday week. Among other subscriptions members of the Ministry send L5O, Mrs Lowry L5O, Gisborne (second donation) L 63, Huddart, Parker and Co L2O and an offer to carry produce free, Waipawa L5O, Feilding L 33, Pahiatua L3O, the New Zealand Shipping Company L2O, and Mr Douglas McLean, has given, L5O, in addition to the previous LlOO. A buggy, with horse harnessed, has been washed up on the beach at Nuhaka. It is not locally owned. Christchurch, April 27.
The Hawkes Bay Flood Committee has decided to amalgamate with the Record Reign Committee. About L 250 has already been subscribed to the fund. New Plymouth, April 27.
The Hawkes Bay Relief Fund now amounts to Ll6O, including Ll 4 7s, the proceeds of a benefit given by Probasco’s Circus last night.
Wellington, April 26. The Racing Club has given L 25 to the Flood Fund.
Dunedin, April 26.
Exclusive of what has been sent direct to Napier the local relief fund now exceeds L3OO.
