Auctioneers’ Reports. Andrew White and Co. report:—We held our fortnightly stock sale at Invercargill yards on Tuesday. There was a large entry of fat cattle, but not many pens of prime beef. Bidding was rather weak, but we sold all our entry at fairly satisfactory prices, graziers taking some of the inferior lots. Fat sheep showed considerable improvement, wethers selling at Is to Is 6d better than at the previous sale and ewes about Is better. Store sheep were also enquired for, but there were very few forward. Lambs again sold with animation and many buyers were not supplied. Following are some of the lots sold by us and prices : —Fat buflocks, L 7 5s to L 7 17s Gd ; medium, L 6 7s 6d to L 6 10s ; light, L 5; cows, medium and light, L 4 5s to L 5 ss; heifers, L 4 10s to L 5 10s. Fat wethers and maiden ewes, 14s Id—a small pen reached 14s lOd; wethers and ewes, medium weights, 12s 2d to 12s 4d ; ewes (best), 0s lOd to 10s 6d ; medium, Ss 3d to 8s 9d ; store wethers and ewes, 10s 9d; lambs, 8s 8d io 9s 9d; ■mall do, 5s 6d. J. A. Mitchell and Co. report having held their fortnightly sale of stock at the Invercargill yards on Tuesday. There was only a small entry of sheep, which sold at prices fully better than last sales. bor prime wethers and maiden ewes there was good demand, but old ewes were somewhat neglected. A ery few stores were forward and these brought full values. Prices ruled as follows Prime wethers and maiden ewes, 14s lOd to 12s 4d ; medium, Us 2d to 9s 7d; best ewee, 10s 7d to 9s 4d ; medium, Bs. Fat Cattle—A fair entry, but very »ew real prime beasts forward —Bullocks, L 7 I7s 6d to L 4 5s ; cows (good), L 7 ; heifers, L 7 15s to L 6 17s Gd ; medium, L 5 to L 4 10s ; speyed heifers. L 5 5s to L 4 12s 6d ; store cows (dry), L2 to L 3 10s; heifers in calf, L 4 to L 4 10s; yearlings, L2 ss; calves, 225. We have enquiry for good hoggets and could place several hundreds at full values. Breeding ewes are also in demand. ... Horse Sale—On Saturday at our weekly sale there was.a fair entry, but not many real good sorts offering. For good, young active draughts there is enquiry. We quote draughts (good), L 25 to L2O; medium, LlB to Ll2 ; old stagers in small demand at from L 9 down ; hacks (fair sorts), LlO to L 6; old and stiff, L 4 down. Messrs Wright, Stephenson and Co. report having held their fortnightly stock sale at the Invercargill yards on Tuesday. Fat Sheep—Entry rather below the average and nothing very good in. Prices were, however, firmer lor anything of fair quality. Fat wethers (fair), 12s to 13s; light to inferior, 9s to Ils 6d; fat ewes (medium weights), 9s to 10s ; light and inferior, 7s to 89 6d - . Fat Cattle- About an average entry. Nothing very prime forward, although there were some pens of bullocks that would have been very nice if they had had a little finishing off. Prices all round must be quoted at 10s to 15s below rates ruling of late. Bullocks (medium weights), L 6 10s to L 7 ; light and inferior, L 4 10s to L 5 10s; cows and neifers (good),. LG 10s to L 7 10s; medium, L 5 to L 6; light and inferior, L 3 to M 10s. Store Stock—Very little forward. We. sold on account of Messrs Geo. Beer and John Fraser (Mossburn), John Kirkpatrick, John Fox, H. J. Pattinson, James Smith, and Mrs Gerrard (Winton) at quotations.
