The Pomahaka Crime.
(By Telegraph.) Dunedin, July 17. At the Magistrate’s Court, Lawrence, Carl Matson and Hannah Bertha Clark were charged with the murder, on or about 22nd February, at Pomahaka, of Mary Matson.— Mr Hawkins, S.M., presided. Evidence, so far, is the same as that given at the inquest. Chas. Johnson, rabbiter at Clydevale, said Mrs Matson was very bad tempered and often used very bad language to Matson. She was a regular tartar and he used to pity Matson. He had seen the pair quarrel but had never seen Matson illtreat her. On one occasion when she' aggravated him Matson kept silent for a long time, but at length appro iched her with clenched fist, when witness said, “None of that.” There are only three witnesses to be examined.
