The Japanese Village.

This entertainment has cow been open four days, and the more it becomei known the greater is the number of patrons. Barely have the townspeople had an opportunity of so inexpensive a form of social amusement. Every itfternoon visitors may enjoy a concert, which alone would command good proceeds if given as an evening's entertainment. The central floor space gives ample room for the Mikado dance, performed by children, and designed from descriptions and illustration*. The gravity and precision with which the little folks perform their parts excites great admiration and amusement. The art collection continues to be a constant source of pleasure and profit. A collection of Japanese aad Indian ware lent by Mr A. R. Wiillis is unique and would repay hours of examination. Another beautiful object, lent by Mr Edmunds, is a panel with chrysanthemums chased in bronze and silver. An ivory basket of Indian workmanship is an interesting example of the intricate carving and job-like patience of the Eastern work* man. A picture full of pathetic interest is the " Last Eleven " lent by Mr Mackinnon. The collection contains mauy other objects deserving note but a visit will enable each visitor to judge better. The tableaux produced continue to rivet the attention of visitors ;_ "Briganzio the Brigand " delights by its ' absurdity and "Ici oa Parlo Francaia " has established itself as firmly aa it did when Johnny Toole made the iicreaming farce popular in London. Those who have not yet visited the village are re« minded that it will Bhortly close.
