Political No tes .
(from our own correspondent.)
[By Telegraph.]
Wellington, June 10.
Referring to the Premier's speech the Post says:— "There was only one new statement in the whole speech and if it be true Mr John Murray should be brought to the bar of the House to explain it. Mr Seddon asserts that in 1894 Mr Ward and his concerns were offered financial assistance by the Bank of New Zealand. If this be true a very ugly name can be applied to the offer and it is the duty of the House to, investigate it." The Cabinet has been sitting for the last two days, and it is current that Mr Ward has actually resigned the Treasurship and that Mr Larnach nas been asked to take his place, bat the Post states that all depends on Mr Justice Williams' decision.
' Sir R. Stoat's reply to the Premier is postponed till Friday night. There are very few members in Wellington so far, and so littleinterest is taken locally in connection with the opening of Parliament that neither paper has thought it worth while to give any particulars regarding the ceremony.
