Wellington, April 13. I The annual report of the New Zealand Uugby Union, which will be submitted at the annua' meetiDg on the 2jth inst., refers to the exceptionally interesting series of iuter-Union matches played l»st season. Pleasure is expressed at the spread of the Referees' Association instituted by the Union, and thanks conveyed to the Premier for passing the Unclassified Societies Registration Act through Parliament, and to Mr Bell, M.H.R., for drafting tha imasire. Reference is made to the visit of the Queens* laud team thia season. Tbe committee has under consideration th<* new rules adopted by the English Union with regard to professionalism. The Union has cltsaredoffa.il its indebtedness with the exception of L47 due to the New South Wales Union, and wbich it was expected that the Union would Inve remitted.
At a meeting of tho Pirates Club, held yesterday evening, it was decided to send a o-T »V p,ay ,hB Q*" p eo9town Kangers on Joth May, playing a Lu.usden team on the previous Saturday. A team cf the club will meet an Ocautau fifteen on the 25th May.
