That Hint.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —My attention has been drawn by several people, to a paragraph in your today’s issue, regarding the conduct of a certain “ apostle of prohibition.” These remarks are evidently meant for me. I accept the cap, and say that whenever I discuss prohibition in the train it is in response to something that has been said to me on the subject by some one present. Ido not start discussions myself. I am invariably quiet till lam attacked, and then lam a terror to the other side. I am always ready for a fight, but never fire the first shot. I am, &c., T. Buxton. 10th August.
