Wellington, July 29

When the Appeal Court resumed this morning in, the Dean case, the Bench said it was unnecessary to call on Mi T. M. Macdonald to reply. The Judges were unanimous that there was no case to answer. They would give their reasons in writing on Wednesday. The case of Minnie Dean was not ednsideiel by the Executive Council to-day, but a special meeting is convened for 9.30 a.m. to-morrow to decide whether the death sentence shall be commuted or carried out.
