The Masterton Murder
(By Telegraph.) Masterton, June 8. Somerville was brought before the court to-day charged with the murder of Herbert, and was committed for trial. The prisoner maintained an indifferent attitude, but keenly watched the evidence, especially that of McHutcheson, who had been talking to Herbert when the fatal shot was fired. Somerville was taken to Wellington and lodged in the Terrace gaol.
