Auctioneers’ Reports. The J. G. Ward Farmers Association report having held their fortnightly stock sale nt the Invercargill yards on Tuesday. The entry was a fair one although in sheep much smaller than the two previous sales. For these, if young and in forward condition, the demand was much better than it has been of late at a general rise in values of from 6d to Is each for suitable turnip sorts. The fat sheep market is still very fully supplied with aged ewes of good quality which at present prevent any rise in this line. Fat Cattle.—All forward changed hands although the quality did not warrant high prices being paid. We quote fair beef at 20s, and inferior 15s to 17s 6d per 100 lb. Best bullocks ranged from IX) 10s to L 8 ; small and inferior, L 4 10s to L 5. One line of 20 we sold at Lslos. , _, Fat Sheep—Best wethers, 7s (id to 8s M; small and medium, 6s to 7s; ewes, 5s to 7s. Store Sheep—Best wethers and maiden ewes, <s B<i, at which price we sold 180, to 6s 6d ; medium and small, 5s to 6s ; lambs, which were mostly inferior, 3s to ss, and ewes, which for the most part had the same complaint, 3s 6d to 4s 6d. Store Cattle—A good entry and nearly all changed hands at up to L 5 for good steers ; medium and small L 3 10s to Li; heifers, L2 to L 3; yearlings, 20s to 27s ; calves, 10s to 15s. The National Mortgage and Agency Co report of the fortnightly sale at Wallacetown yards that a fairly large amount of stock of all classes came forward and met a much improved demand. ’ Fat Cattle—64 head were penned and the quality was much above recent entries, although there was nothing special. Prices showed a decided improvement and almost cverv lot was sold at L 6 to L 6 10s for good bullocks, L 5 to L 5 15s for small; best cows L 6 to Lt) 7s 6d, ordinary LI 10s to L 5 10s, light and mienor L3lss to L 4 ss. , , Fat Sheep—6o9 entered. Demand good. Best heavy weight wethers, 7s 9(1 to 8s 3d ; light and ordinary, 0s Oct to 7s (Id ; fat ewes, 6s Id to 7s Id, and smaller, 4s (kl to 5s 6d. Store Sheep—29ls entered. Demand very brisk, prices being almost equal to fat. Best 2-tooth sheep, 7s to 7s 8d ; ordinary, 6s to 6s Oil; bestjambs to 5s Id ; ordinary, 4s to 4s (kl; small. 2s 6d to 3s 6d ; cullewes, 3s to 4s 4d. Store Cattle—l 46 head, comprising a number of useful growing sorts for which there was a prettygood demand, a considerable number being sold at prices about the same as recently ruling.

Stronach, White and Co. report having held their fortnightly stock sale at Invercargill yards on Tuesday, when there was a fair entry of all classes of stock. Fat sheep were in good demand and though there were not many pens of prime forward, bidding was spirited throughout at a rise of 6d to Is per head. We sold, on account of various clients, wethers (6-tooth) of medium quality at 8s 3d ; ewes from 6s 6d to 7s Id. Store Sheep.—These also were well competed for and sold st rather better than ruling rates. Our entry consisted of 1073 wethers, lambs and ewes, and we cleared the lot at the following prices Wethers (2 tooth) 6s to 6s lid—all medium stores ; lambs, 3s 2d to 4s 2d—no good sorts forward ; breeding ewes from 2s 7d to 3s (kl—mostly old. Fat Cuttle.—We cleared our entry, which consisted of fair to medium quality, at Lo 10s to L 6 10s for bullocks and L 4 7s Cd to L 5 10s for cows and heifers. Prime fat cattle seem to be in fair demand. Store Cattle.—Grown bullocks, LI to L 5 ; 2-year olds, L2 5s ; yearlings, 20s to 30s ; calves, 14s.
