[By Telegraph.] CANTERBURY v. SOUTHLAND. Christchurch, Nov. 5. The first interprovincial match between Canterbury and Southland was played on Lancaster Park to-day. The weather was excellent; wicket was rather soft in the morning, but improved as the day wore on. Canterbury, owing to the fine bowling of Robertson and Uru, and good batting by North and Fowke, won easily by an innings and 81 runs. Canterbury won the toss and sent Southland to the wickets.
