This preparation kills the Rabbits on the spot, thus enabling the Farmer; Runholders, or Rabbitter using it to secure all the skins. . ' Read the following Testimonials:— Messrs Tothill, Watson & Co., Grain and Wool Merchants, Invercargill, wrote as follows on 22nd June:—“ We tried a little of your TOXA; last week, and the result was very satisfactory. It is wonderful stuff for killing rabbits.’’ How is this in comparison with Phosphorised Oats ’ £7 worth of Skins for an expenditure of 2s 6d Mr W. Jaffray, a Bettierat Saddle Hill, informed our Dunedin Agents that, with the contents of a 21b tin, he poisoned 550 rabbits. This is the record up to this date. Roseneath, Wangaloa, 10th July, 1893. Messrs Stronach Bros. & Morris, Agents for TOXA. Gentlemen,—l received the 21b tin of TOXA on Saturday, the Sth inst., and at once laid some of it in a 26-acre paddock below the house which 1 had not poisoned with phosphorised oats. I can assure you it opened my eyes next morning to find 21 rabbits all lying in a row just as if someone had laid them there. None of the rabbits were more than three yards from the sods, so that let me see that if a rabbit took it ho did not have much time to get away to cover. The only thing I regret is not having someone with me to see the sight. There is no mistake ; it is a miracle, and knocks spots out of poisoned grain. lam sorry now that I had all the other paddocks poisoned beforehand with the phosphorus. The way I used the TOXA was as follows:—“ I turned up a sod every 12 yards until I had about a dozen. Then I put a small piece about half as big as a pigeon’s egg on each. I think tho more sods turned up the better, as it draws the rabbits’ attention to the poison. Of course, plenty of the sods were never touched, and if there are any more rabbits about, there is as much TOXA on the other sods as will kill more than three times 21. I will tell you later on how many I get in he paddock altogether, bitt I think I.have old you enough to let you see what a apital thing it is. & I remain. &c., John Burns. P.S.—Had to open this letter to let you know the results on Monday morning. I found 18 more rabbits just where I got the 21 the previous morning, and etiil there are sods nob touched ; so I may get a few. more yet, although the rabbits are not very thick n this paddock. Messrs Stronach Bros, and Morris, agents for TOXA Rabbit Poison. Gentlemen, —It will, perhaps, interest you to know the results of my experiments with the above-mentioned preparation. I laid it down in well-grassed laud as directed, and I must say that it killed the rabbits quickly anfl in considerable numbers. It appears to be a very powerful preparation, as the rabbits never get far from the sods after taking it. I think TOXA- is the poison for bare land, whether in a cultivated on native state. The rabbits take, the preparation quickly on such land, and every skin is secured, which is not the case with phosphorised oats. The rabbits seem to be very fond of TOXA, as a little hole was licked inthe sods on the spot where the poison was laid. Wishing you every auccess.—l am,, &c., James Nelson. Lovell's Flat. To Toxa Manufacturing Co., Dunedin Dear Sirs, —We have been experimenting with the new rabbit poison TOXA at Otama, and we find it quite equal to what it has been represented to be. We killed with the poison (a 21b tin) 270 rabbits and found every skin. From our experience we should say that it is a long way cheaper to use than phosphorised oats, and we have had long experience as rabbiters.—We are, gentlemen, yours truly, R. Wardrop. Jas. Blackstock. Save your Crops by using grain impregnated with the powerful combination Poison “TOXA” to kill off the small birds. After numerous and lengthy experiments we have succeeded in preparing grain charged with TOXA poison, so that it will kill sparrows, green linnets, and oilier seedeating birds, very rapidly; this we have proved by actual experiments on the birds themselves. We have had a practical birdcatcher engaged trapping sparrows and green linnets, especially for experimental purposes, and the results of our labours have been all that could be desired. TOXA poisoned grain will always bo the same strength, and the poison by our process will be forced right into the kernel of the grain ; therefore 2 or 3 grains will be found quite sufficient to kill any small bird in a very short time. Persons requiring , special seed charged with TOXA Poison, such as rape, can get same by giving the r Agents a week’s notice to procure it. TOXA poisoned grain is put up in 7 and 141 b cans; prices, 5a and 9s per tin.
