SYDNEY, Nov. 22. Received 22nd, 6 p.m. Mr T. W. Lewis, Under-Secretary for Native Affairs in New Zealand, died to-day from inflammation of the lungs. With reference to the cablegram concerning the arrest of Bloom ana Douglas at Honolulu, it is believed they are identical with Bell and Daviea, the levanting directors of the Australian Mercantile Loan and Guarantee Bank, which failed recently. The yacht Beagle, which they were using, was formerly a gunboat. She bad been lying in Melbourne for many years and about the time of the flight of the defaulting directors was purchased, ostensibly for trading purposes. Received 23rd, 1 a.m. White's well-known thoroughbred stallion Chester is dead. MELBOURNE, Nov. 22. Received 23rd, 1 a.m. The Austral wheel race of 200 aovs. (two miles) was won by Turner, with Lewis 2nd, and Kittow 3rd. Turner won easily in 5 mm. 43 sees. The track was soft. Fortysix started. ADELAIDE, Nov. 21. Received 23rd, 1 a.m. In the cricket match South Australia v. Lord Sheffield's team the local men made 163, Scrymgeour being top scorer with 57. The fielding of the English team was perfect. The Englishmen in their first essay knocked up 321, of which Briggs^made 95.
