[Unitkd Press Association— By Electric Teleuraph— CorYKHiHT.] SYDNEY, Feb. 28. At the Postal Conference to-day the discussion on the Eastern Extension Cable Co.'s agreement was resumed, when Mr H. S. Bird, Colonial Treasurer of Tasmania, accused the Governments of New Zealand and Queensland of seltishuess in not joining with the other colonies in p.-.yiiig the cost of obtaining a reduction in the cable tariff. Mr T. Unmack, Postmaster General of Queensland, in reply, stated thai for the last 1"> or 16 years the Queensland Government had always insisted on having a distinct, service fiom the Eastern Extension Cable Co., feeling as they did that it would he dangerous to depend on one line. The question of finance had not been taken into consideration, and if his Government now joined it would be breaking the principle which they had held all along.
