(By Teleorapu. ) Dunedix, Feb. 26. The D.J.C races were favoured with tine weather, the day being warm but cloudy. The attendance, though not so large as the tirat ciay, was satisfactory. There was some trouble about the starting of the Novel Race, Mr Driver, it is stated, admitting that he made a mistake and that, it was no race, but the stewards declared otherwise. M r Driver started no more races duriug the day. Following were the results : — Tally-Ho of lOOsovs. (two miles). Rutherford's Ixion (12st 51b) 1 O'Briens Little Arthur (list 131 b) ... 2 Wright's Trimolite (9st 121 b) 3 Four others ran. A good race, won by half a length. Time— 4 mm. 10£ sees. Dividend, L 2 4s. City Stakes of 150 soys. (5 furlongs). Stephenson's Huguenot (Tat) 1 Stead's Clanranald (Bst 21b) 2 Luuu's Cajolery (!)at 21b) 3 Two others ran. Clanranald was favourite and got off quickest but stopped dead. Huguenot showed a clean puir of heels to the field and was never troubled. Time — 1 miv. 4 sees. Dividends, L 2 18s and L 3 10s. D.J.C. Hilda was quickest away, but Prime Warden soon took the lead with Bay King, Hilda, Occident, and Palliser in that order. At the J-miie post the field closed up and a slashing race up straight followed, Prim« Warden

had a slight lead, but whips were out and Hilda crept up on the inside and was landed the w nner by half a length, Occident 1£ length behind Prime Warden, third. Mercer's Gazelle (Tat l'ilh) 1 Russell's C linage (6»t) 2 MoMaster's Irene (7st 61b) 3 Four others came to the post. When the flag fell, Dragon, the favourite, had his head turned the wrong way and he waa walked home. Gazelle had several lengths advantage and she was never headed. There was an immense demonstration when Mr Driver, the starter, came in. He admitted making a mistake, but the stewards declared it a race. Several investors demanded their money back. Time — 1 mm. 47 sees. Dividends, L 5 and L 5 11s. Domain Handicap of 100 soys. (6 furlongs . George's Reprisal ... ... ••• ~. 1 Harris' Inez ... ... ... 2 Webb's Ruby 3 Four others ran.
