(By Telegraph.) 1 DtJNtDix, Feb. 25. The D.J.C. autumn meeting was commenced to-day. The weather was threatening 9 but no rain fell. The attendance was large 1 and the stand and pounds presented a gay appearance. The racing wa3 excellent, the > finishes being close and exciting. Those who 3 backed favourites had a g<yod deal the worst 3 of it. The sum of L 13.992 went through the 3 machines. The results of the races were as follows : — Hurdle Race of 100 soys. (1^ mile), t O'Brien's Little Arthur, list 21b (Clark) 1 . Rutherford's Alma, 12st 101 b (Lunn) ... 2 ■ Wright's Trimolite, lOst (Allan) 3 Five others ran. Won by half a length t after a fine finish. Time, 3 mm. 0^ seoa. 1 Dividend, L 6 Is. Ciia.upag.ne Stakes of 2.30 soys. (6 furj longs). . Two miles and t distance. 1 O'Brien's Freedom, Bst 31b (Whiter ... 1 1 Stejiheasou's Occident, Bst Blb (Lecson)... 2 J Clifford's Cruchtield, 7st Blb (Brown) ... 3 [ Hilda, Prime Warden, and Assyrian King ( also started. Assyrian King was the first to show in front with Cruchtield next. Freedom and Occident next, together, and Hilda lying last. In this 1 order they completed the tirst round, Oruchlield anil Assyrian 1-i.ing alternately leading. At the windmill, threequaiter mile from home, Hilda closed up, and at the back of the course Occident closed on the leaders, and Prime Warden took the lead. Freedom joined in the struggle a little later, and Assyrian King retired beaten. At the home turu Hilda was in difficulties, and Prime Warden to have had euough also. Cruchtield led into the straight and Occident and Freedom at once challenged the gelding. A , tine struggle ensued, but Freedom was in the best condition and got in front, winniug by a length and a half, Cruchtield two lengths away third ; Hilda, more than a length behind, fourth, Prime Warden fifth, Assyrian King last.
