Wellington A. and P. Show
(By Telkorapii.) Wellington, Nov. 26. The A. and P. Association's show opened to-day. The weather was fine in the morning but during the afternoon drenching rain set in and still continues. To-day was set apart for judging. The entries are more numerous than last year. There is especially tine show of prize cattle, exhibitors coming from the West Coast of the North Island, Hawkes Bay and the .South. In sheep there are over 110 pens from some of the best flocks in the colony. Thoroughbreds are but poorly represented. In shorthorn cattle the prize for the champion bull was taken by Mr John Deans, of Riccarton, and for the cow by Mr John Ross, Patea. Mr J. Stuckey, Rangituma, takes champion prizes [ for Hereford hull anrl uow. Mr Alexander Douglas, of East Taieri, is the owner of the champion Ayrshire bull and cow, and he divided *vith Mr James Little, of Hawarden, for general honours in the class. The championship for merino rams tails to Gaulter Bros. (Marlborough), and the championship in Hampshire Downs to Mr Fred. Monckton (Feather»ton). Mr A. McKenzie (Featherston) takes all the prizes in Shropshire Downs. Mr Alfred Matthews (Featherston) takes high honours in Romney Marsh Mr T. M. Wilfred's Blossom is champion draught mare. Tbc champion Lincoln ram is one exhibited by Mr J. Rayner (Taratahi), and the champion Lincoln ewe by Mr W. Wilson (Wellington).
