EL Lough, Town Clerk, on Saturday completed 21 years of service in that capacity and at the Council meeting tonight the Mayor mentioned the fact. He also said that during his long term of offioe Mr Lough hid never had a holiday and suggested that it was about time they gave him one. The Young Women's Christian Association are abont starting a coffee shelter for cabmen, carters, tramway employes, &c. Young was running his cars in penny sections, but the Tramway Company from to-morrow will run their cars for the full distance for a penny. William McPherson, a settler of Wiagatui, was killed on Saturday night by falling out of a dray, the wheel of which passed over him. He leaves a wife and two children.
