AUSTRALIAN.
BYDNEY, July 3. The Morning in an article on Sir B. Atkinson's Financial Statement, says that the gratifying position of New Zealand ia mainly due to the policy adopted by the Atkinson Ministry. It is very questionable whether it would have beeD brought about if Sir. B. Stout had continued in power, even had the Cabinet been reconstructed, wbi'e with Sir J. Yogel presidfng'ovor the Treasury it would have been quite impossible. The great increase in exports and the rapid advance •of NZ. securities show that public confidence within and outmide the colony has been restored. Looking at the situation from all points the Herald is of opinion that Sir H. Atkinson is pretty certain to remain in power until the expiry of Parliament, and it is best for New Zealand that this should be so. Wheat—Market very dull.
