Negotiations are proceeding' between the Government, the authbritiee of the Presbyterian Church, and the Union Steamship Company with a view to extending their South Sea services to the New Hebrides. The Presbyterian body, who have missionary stations in the group, suggested that a small steamer should ba subsidised to open up nnd develop a trade with tbe islands. The Premier, Mr Gillies, has asked the Uuion Company to state the amount of subsidy they would require for such a Bervice. ADELAIDE, June 29.
