Balfour Caledonian Sports
(FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.) The second annual games of our Caledonian Society took place on Boxing Day in Mr McPherson's paddock, close to the township. The attendance was not large, owing no doubt to it being a fine. day. Good days are coining to be such a rarity that farmers can ill afford to let them pass in idleness, be it Christmas or Boxing Day. Shearing was in full swing in the Company's shed close to the scene of the games, excepting some of the shearers who "boss'd" themselves. Notwithstanding, the gathering wa3 a hearty one. Everybody seemed to thoroughly enjoy themselves. Mr McPherson had a booth on the ground where the thirsty and fagged refreshed themselves in moderation.
