The convictions for ' dronkeonets at the various police courts numbered 17 981 ; convictions for drunken, ness, combined with other offences, 9266. The total number of convictions for offences of the foregoing nature committed between 8 a.m, on Saturday and 8 a.m on Sunday wa* 5304, and between 8 a.m. on Snnday and 8 a.m. on Monday, 9003. The number of convictions for selling on Sunday was 246, and the number of convictions for telling during prohibit-bours other than for Sunday telling was 91.
