-♦ The value of horses keeps up both in England and America. At a recent fair held in Lincoln, average quotations for beat animals were aa follows — Carriage horses (matched pain) wbich are very scarce, from IGO to 250g5., and np as high as 400gs ; horsei suitable for broughams (high steppers) 65 to 105gs; carriage horses with good action 50 to 90gs; high-stepping saddle horses 70 to 100g»; horses for cabs and 'basts 15 to 2Sg«; draught homes 45 to fOgs ; good farm horses £25 to £35. A correspondent of the Rural New Yorker gives the following particulara about horses ia tbe Btate3—Dranght horses are classified ai light or heavy draught, and first and second quality, selling in the market at from £37 to £60. A lew years ago one that weighed 14001 b was considered large ; to-day such a one is not classed as a draught horse, being too small. They mnst reach well on to 15001 b and from that to 1600, 1700, and 1800 each, and occasionally one weighs from 1900 to 20001 b. A good draught horse, weighing 15001 bis worth £40, and for every lOtdbs in weight one can safely add £5. Thns horgas equally good, weighing 16001 b, are worth £45 ; 17001 b weight £50 ; 18001 b £55 ; 19001 b £60
