The Argus of tbe 28th^ uit. reports as follows for the previous day :— Interest is being manifested in the possibilities of the approaching hirvest. The reports cominc to hand from tha wheat districts are not nnmerons, but generally speak well of th« condition and the weight of the crops. It is expected that there will be plenty of new wheat available ia about a fortnight, and tbat tbe shipment of the surplus will commence in January. As there is a strong probability of freights being high it is held that to maintain a parity with the London market as it is at .resent, new wheat for shipment should not cost more than 3s 2d to 3s 2*d. With regard to freights we learn that .-everal vessels now unHobBon's Bay aro to be despatched to Adelaide to load here. To-day the receipts of wheat have Bggre gated the rather large total of t 3072 bags, nearly the whole of which bas passed into the hands of one miller. The price remains firm at 3ißd for prime quality. Ths estimated total available for expo-t is equivalent to 28,871 tooa. The project of the barhsy harvest is held to be eood, the grain being lull and heavy, promising I larger proportion than rn-ml of malting qualities Tue business in feeding grains has been confined to the filling of tenrrent trade requirement-. New Zealand oats have had sales to U-e t_te_toi about 300 bags at 2a 1 Id. In bran tbere is a considerable difference between the views of the buyers and sellers, the latter offering 8d and the former .asking B£d to;9d. The Btock held for higher prices ia rather large.
