Lumsden.
(FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.) Unlike nearly every other place this township is not to be enlivened with any rejoicing on Jubilee day, now that the entertainment I spoke of & week or two ago has fallen through.. I suppose it would not be in keeping with the general feeling to rejoice ; still there is little vie lamenting the bad times, as this district is no worse than others. Doleful looks and careworn faces are more often met with now than the free and easy jocular style of a few years ago. The only thing 1 can see for it is to struggle on, hoping for better things Our Good Templars' entertainment, which comes ofi od Friday next, promises to be & great success in every way, all the available talent in our district having promised a helping hand, The Bey, Mr Richardson will hold the usual monthly Anglican service here on Sunday next, adnninißtering the Sacrament of Holy Communion after the service. The weather lately has been heavy and threatening, bat so far no downfall has taken place, although hourly expected, 16th June, 1887.
