+ f (PBB PRESS ASSOCIATION.) WELLINGTON, June 12. A. public meeting was held last night of those favourable to the principle of Protection in connection with the fiscal policy of theoolony. About 600 were' present. Mr Ballance moved a resolution as follows :— " That a society ia hereby constituted under the name of the N>w Zealand Industrial Protection Association tha object of the society to be tho^ protection and development alike of rbo natural resources of the colony and of its manufactures and industries by such re-adjwtment of tie tariff as will tend to largely increase all."— Carried unanimously. Among the speakers were Messrs Ballance and Bracken, M'e.H.R., Dranefiold, Luk<», Robertson, and Moraa. Among the auileace were tb.j Premier and several members of Parliament. GREYMOUTH, Jdnb 12.
