Otago A. and P. Show.
-♦ [By Telegraph.] Ddnedin, Nov. 24. The Otago A. and P. Association's show this year was opened to-day and promises, so far, to .be the best yet held. The horses and cattle wore judged to-day. Considering the extra charge made the attendance was fairly good. The following took championship certificates : — Sborihorns — best bull of any age, E. Men.'ove (Alvie's Earl of Brunswick III) j best cow or heifer of any age, J. Deans (Fiower of Brunswick V) ; polled Angus —beet bull of any age, N.Z. and A.L. Co (Patricius I) ; best cow or heifer of any age, NZ. aud A.L Co (Maggie Lauder) ; Ayrshires — best bull of any age on ground, K. B. Ferguson (Tapanui) ; best cow o*r heifer, A. and J. McFarlane (Verbend) ; Alderneys — Best bull, Cadzow (Sir George) ; best cow, John Mitchell (Lizzie). In sheep the special priza of L2O for tho largest prize -taker, was secured by the Hon. M. Holmes. Mr Teschemaker took the champion ceitificate for both ram and ewe in fine combing merinos ; Mr Johnston taking the certificate for the best ewe. S';rong combing — A. Murdoch took both championships for Leicesters, and the Hon. M Holmes for Liocolns. In Southdowns, G. G. Russell took the championship for a ram of any age, and J. Deans for a ewe- In fat shetp the principal prfceij ifell to S s Qarfopth.
