Application was *nade again this morning to all the ofljclala and Ministers who could possibly know anything about the result of the analysis of Captain Cain's body, and one and all either professed ignorance or their inability to say anything. Enoughj however, leaked ont to show that there is some truth in the rumour of antimony being found, but up to the present it is impossible to get details. The New Zealand Times say? they have obtained the information upon inquiry, and that it .is perfectly correct, though the analyiaits were bound to secrecy. The Defence Minister, who had been given as an authority for the statement that antimony had been found in Captain Cain'a body, on being interviewed on behalf of the Press Association, declined to say anything. Chbistchurch, Oct. 7. , The Wellington correspondent of the 'Press states that the Defence Minister informed him that the rumour he previously telegraphed that Captaiu Cain's remains were saturated with antimooy was quite true. Thos. Hall and Margaret Houston returned from Timaru by the train to-night, to be brought before the Supreme Court to-morrow when the Grand Jury will have the indictments submitted to them. As many as 64 witnesses came here by the same train. There were lawyeis, doctors, bank managers, policemen, chemists, booksellers, storekeepers, farmers, labourers, and two or tbtee women seivantß, ail of whom will be called either by the prosecution or the defence in the now celebrated cases.
