INVERCARGILL v. BRITANNIA CLUB.
An eleven of the 1.0.0. met the Britati-i; nia 0.0. on the ground of the former onf Friday, and were defeated on the first in; niogsby 13 rune. The I.C.U. were represented by a weak team, most of -their'' principal batsmen being absent, and it was, expected that the match would go in" favour of the junior dab. The. 1.0.C.---went first to the wickets and only managed to put togother 37 runs, of which Keade made the principal score. The Britannias then naado 50 runs ; Dalrymple being the only one who managed to get into double figures. In the second innings the 1.0.0. made 144 runs; Miller completely collared the bowling, and : hia play was remarkably good with tb©' exoeption of one possible chance. In the second innings of the Britinnia they lost: 5 wickets for 24 runs, when time wasj called. For their respective sides in bowling Martin and Howorth, and Dairymple and Kayaiond were very good.
