Joseph Stevens was charged with bcJn^ s , of unsounH mind. ,— Constable - Griffith itated that the man had been wandering at -■ Jarge about Castle Rock Station, and that his conduct" appeared to indicate insanity. [ —-The accused said he had "knocked down" a cheque for L 9 at r a country hotel and ' was suffering from the effects of drink. — 'Remanded for medical treatment. „ BOWDY. A visitor from Dunedin was fined 5a for : having been drunk and 10s for resisting {tbe pplice.-rHe stated that during his 30 years' -sojourn ia the colony he had never been in ouch a fix before and would get back to Dunodin as quick as He could.
