(FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.) The annual general meeting of the Mataura P. and A Society took place in Leahy's Hotel, Wyndham, on Wednesday last, In the absence of the President, Mr Jas. Milne, Vice-President, took the chair. The annual report and balance«3heet were adopted, and the date of the annual show ''fixed for Thursday, December 3rd. A mot'oa that the committee be increased from fifteen to eighteen was carried, and a ballot resulted in the re turn of Messrs Jas. Holmes, D. Carmichae!, J. A. K. Menziee, .fas. Lumsden, D. Stalker, Charles McGill, W, Dunlop, and A. Gait (<>enr.) Mr James Korsyth was elected President, and Mr James Milne was re-elected Vice-President. \ motion, of which Mr Jas. Lumsden.had given notice, to the effect that any member of committee absenting himself "from threV consecutive meetings should for* ieit his seat, was cunied mm eon Mr D. J. Carmichael Jwas appointed auditor, a-:d accounts amounting to £15 lOd fd bsvingbeen I passed for payment, the meeting adjourned. | On Friday night the Wyndham Braßß Band holds a concert in the Gaiety ! Theatre, and, as Ihe .promoters have adopted the precaut on of disposiug of tickets beforehand, I have eveiy reason to believe the Concert will prore a financial success. On the same evening the general meeting of the shareholders in the Dairy Factory Co, takes place, in which considerable interest appears to be taken. The directors wi'l be in a position to lay a veiy satisfactory report before the meeting, as the buildiDg is just about completed. The rotary va% of 1200 galls, capacity, reached Auckland by the s.«. Australia last week, and mo*t of the interns! machinery can be placed in the factory within fourteen days { so the directors appear to have everything in good order. September 2nd, 18S5.
