LAND SALE.
Messrs J. O. McArdell and Co. held an imwortant land sale in the Prince of Wales Hotel on : Saturday, the 22nd met. There was a very lafce 'attendance of buyers, and in many cises the bidding-was spirited. The following allotments, each' containing ftth of an acre, m block 70' ■Invercargill, were sold : -Allotments d and 4o'f sectvon.l9, block 70, each £th of an acre,L3so each W #.' Waterston, pur<-haser ; allotments 6 and 6 of section 18, block 70, ftta oTan acre each, L 331 each, Martin Hughes, purchaser ; allotments' 12 and 13 of section 6, block /0, each i, of an, acre, L 275 each, E. B. Jones, purchaser ; allotments If. 2, 7, *S », 10, and U, being sobdivisions of sections 21, 3, 4, and o, bl I ;ck <0, were passed in at prices ranging from L2oo to L 550 each ; allotment 10 of subdivision of secSon 12; block 4. 'lnvercargill Handled, comprising 4£ acres, with two cottages thereou, known as «'The Sisters," was sold for L3OO, Messw J, and "W. Sloan being the purchasers. The above propertiea were, all sold under instructions from the executors in the estate of the late H. b. Osborne.- Sections 12 and 13, block 11, Invereargill, comprising i-an-acre, with build ngs thereon." having frontages to Tay and Jed streets, realised LU6O, Mrssw J. and W. Sloan being the purchasers; section 7, block 6, Noith Invereargill, comprising with 0-roomed cottage and stab'e, was sold to Mi ; G. C. Baker for £220. A farm of 302 acres, being section 12 block 10. Tuturau. district, in the insolvent estate of John Meikle, was passed in at LBBO, bat two or three enquiries since the sale leaci toe auctioneers to expect the property to change hands. There was no offer received for ilr Starray's farm near Glaclfield,
