Property Assessment.

TO THE EDITOR,

Sir,— Having read your report of the " Proceediogs" of tbe Waste Land* Board on Ihursday, 1 do not fiad any reference to the matter about which so much bas been written and said lately, of the Hanger's ap« poiatment as a property, tax valuator. This is 1 matter which may properly be said to be a public scandal j and the question arises, why does not the Board deal with it at once ? Is it to show their contempt for, and outrage of public opinion, or a tacit admit sion that tbe interests of the public are not. their concern ? Undoubtedly the matter must go before the House,— l am, &c ,

Bats and Royalty-Payeb.
