Grain Show at Wyndham.

(fbom oue ow*t cobebspondbnt.) The fourth annual grain and root show in connection with the Mataura P. and A. Society took place at Wyndham on Wed- " nesday. Although the entries in cereals were uot so numerous as in previous years, the exhibits we're up to the usual excellent standard that these shows have acquired a name for. As usual,' Meesrs Cargill and Anderson, of Glenham, and Mr James Holms were tbe largest prize-takers. In wheat, the first prize lot- was a pretty sample, and Messrs Lnmsden Brothers fully deserved tbe prize ; this is the result of a change of seed. The exhibition of turnips was very good, Mr Cushnie showing two chains of drills— one of Swedes and anotherof .common—which averaged respectively, 29 and 38 tons per acre. This is a sample of what winter feed this district can produce. ~ The judges were Messrs _, McKay ahd Cleave, whose decisions were unquestioned. • For details! eub join the PRIZE LIST. .
