LONDON, Jan. 22. Sir Geo. Des Vceuv, Governor of Fiji, will return to England in February, and the Hon. J. B. Thurston, C.AfG., Colonial Secretary of Fiji, who is at present on a visit to England, will return as soon as possible to administer the government. The committee of the German Reichstag have recommended the subsidising of an African-Australian line of steamers. Mr Parnell, speaking at Cork, urged the laborers and farmers to pay no rent, and a'so advocated the protection of Irish industries. It' a commission is appointed to consider G-rman-British interests in the Pacific, the Hon. J. B. Thurston, C.M.G., will probably be appointed to represent England. It ia rumored tbat the conference respecting the Pacific will be held in London, and that it will lead to mutual intercourse between Germany and England reppecting these islands.
