POST OFFICE NOTICE. mails toil close as follows; — Friday, 26th Dec; forNossiße, Mayotte, Madagascar, Re-union, Mauritius, Seychelles, Natal, Cape Colony, Algeria, France, and other Continental countries, tne United Kingdom, etc., etc, (per French packet), at 9.45 a.m. Correspondence for the United Kingdom and the Continent of Europe intended to be forwarded by this opportunity must be specially addressed:

Europe, Ac, at 9 45 a.m. For the United Kingdom via Brindisi (for correspondence specially so addressed), Tasmania 3nd the Australian Colonies, per s.s. Eotomalaana, at 10 a.m. This mail will be due in London on 10th 3?ebr'nary. Money Orders will be issued up to 4 p.m., and lutwfl registered up to 6 p.m., on Wednesday, 2ith Dec,
Saturday, 27 th Deo. For the West Coast Sounds, per s.s. Stella, at 10.-30 a.m.
Caristmas and New Tear's Days b^ing Post O£ce holidays, all mails for despatch on these days will be closed at 8 o'clock, and the town and suburban receiving boxes cleared at 7 o'clock the previous evenings. There will be no delivery by letter carriers on Christmas or New Tear's Days, but instead a general delivery will be made at the Post«OtSce between the hours of 7 and 8 p.m. on the 24th and 31st inst. On Boxing Pay the Post Office will only be opened between 9 and 10 a.m. A general delivery will be made by the letter carriers at 8 am. The town and suburban receiving boxed cleared at 9 a.m., and all mails acvertised to close up to 10 a m. will be despatched aa usual. The Telegraph Office will be opeD on Chriatmas Day, Boxing Day, and New Year's Day between the hours of 9 and lv) a.m. and 7 and 8 p.m., and the Telephone Exchange on Christinas and New Tear's Dajsfor one hour from 9 to 10 am.
