The annual meeting of the Gordon Licensing Committee was beld on the 4th inst, when the two hotels at present holding iicenses were granted renewals. A long discussion took place in reference to an application by Mr Costello for a license for a house recently erected by him. The police objected on the grounds — (1.) That the house was not required ; (2.) That th§ ftceowpwfotioq wm Art
sufficient; $.) That the applicant wa* hot a suitable person to hold a license. After bearipg evidence at great length, the, commitfee decided not to grant the application..
