Richardson's letter to yoii,of 10th and 14th inst., bearing on the town Burvey, I do not think he has it all touched the question in dispute, and. as he can see no question to dispute, or difference to legalise, perhaps. you will allow me to state the caee as i* presents itself to me. Given, first, the record plan very accurate. Second, the original survey as pegged on the .ground, somewhat inaccurate from trie circumstances attending it. Third, MabenVnubpequejit survey, mp.re , accurate, a compromise; between the record plan and the original survey, but shifting more or leas the lines of the original survey. _— Query. If Maben's survey is adopted, what is to be done with the original, and subsequent proprietors who have built upon and improved their properties • in accordance with the original survey ? That the two surveys are' somewhat discrepant Mr Spence affirms, and the Courthouse, jnst built, adds further evidence, . having, been built upon the original survey after due enquiry. If- Mr Richardson will see that there is something in dispute and can offer a suggestion to the Town Council whereby the matter can be settled, doing justice to parties who have built upon both surveys, he will deserve the thanks of the community. s—l5 — I am, &c, N Section.
