The sales opened with good competition, and continued brisk throughout, last week's prices being- maintained for almost every lot offered, Woolly cvossbreds brought from 13s 6d to 21s 9d ; merinos from 14s 6d to 17s 9d ; shorn crossbreds, from 13s 6d to 19s 3d. We quote prime mutton at 3fd per lb for woolly sheep, and 2sd for shorn. Grain — There is no improvement to report in this market, and throughout tbe past week the amount of business done has been limited, whilst on the whole prices are easier. We quote prime milling wheat at 4s Id to 4s 2d ; good, 3s 9d to 4s ; medium, 3s to 3s Gd ; inferior and fowl wheat, Is 9d to 2s 9d. Oats— The market for both feed and milling is quiet. The supply is good and there are no indications of any improvement in value which remain at — for stout milling, Is lid ; short bright feed, Is 9d to Is lOd ; medium, Is 7d to Is Bd* Barley is in short supply and therefore but very little business is being done. Ryegrass seed is Stmost out of demand for the present, and quotations are only nominal, machine dressed, 3s lOd to 4s 6d ; undressed, 2s Gd to 3s.
