[By Cable.] MELBOtmNE, Nov. 28. The National Mortgage and Agency Company of New Zealand report the following as the latest market quotations — Nothing is doing in malting barley and prices are nominal. Shipping ■wheat is decidedly firmer at os Gd ; New Zealand oats, dnty paid, are rather weaker at 3s 9d to 4s 2d for feeding qualities, and 4s 3d to 4s 4d for milling ditto. There is rather more enquiry for New Zealand oate, in boDd, and prices are less depressed. Quotations range from Ss 4d to 3s 8d ; ;prime .hams are in good demand at 9Jd per lb.and there is a fair demand for bacon at Bd. Owing to recent heavy rains business is dull, and bad weather has hindered the progress of harvest operations in the grain districts. fBT TelegraphJ. Christchtjrch.Nov. 28. The Canterbury wool sales opened to-day. Matson and Co. offered 925 bales j 723 of which were disposed of. The highest value obtained was 9|dper lb for crossbred wool, ligatin grease. "Wilkin and Co. offered about 1323 bales crossbred sold at 7d to 9£d ; merino at 7sd to 9sd ; scoured, Is Ad to Is 6d. Prices generally were If d to 2d below last season.
