This company has been projected for the purpose of carrying on a General Financial, Trust, Loan, and Agency business, and the Directors have taken power in the Articles of Association to act as Trustee and Executor under wills, and generally to act in any fiducia ry capacity. The operations of the Company will include the receipt of deposits, bearing interest at current rates ; the investment of its funds upon mortgage of properties for fixed periods and otherwise, according to arrangement, including monthly or quarterly repayments on Building Societies' scales, and general loan, financial, and commission agency business. The Directors have entered into an agreement with the Invercargill Permanent Building, Loan, and Investment Society to take over its investments and deposits as fiom the 7th September last, having satisfied themselves of the genuineness of the Society's balance-sheet, and of the value and profitable character of its securities and investments, amounting to £18,722 6s Bd, and which are taken over at that price. The profits made by the Society since September 7th, 1882, will be transferred to the Company, The Shareholders in the Building Society are to have the privilege of either taking up shares in the Company at par to the value of their interests in the Society or depositing the amount thereof with the Company.
