Otago Agricultural Society's Show.

. -c. [By Telegraph.] Dunedin, Nov. 22. For the Agricultural Society's show today there was capital weather and a good attendance for the first day. Cattle, sheep and implements were judged to-day. Mr Menlove, from Oamaru, scored most points in shorthorns ; the N. Z. and A. L. Co. being second. The latter company's bull Earl of Brunswick 2nd, however, was adjudged champion, and his stock also took a number of prizes. Of: Ayrshires, there was a magnifient show, and great competition. A. and J. McFarlane beat Gemmell, of Oamaru, by two points, out of some 10 or 11 exhibitors. Great interest was taken in the exhibition of merinos, which weie all of Australian type. The Hon. R. Campbell took first prizes both in rams and ewes ; his imported ram, Golden Tom, taking first prize in that class, aod one of his own breeding second prize. Messrs Murray, Roberts and Co , who took first honors in previous years, were good seconds on this occasion. In Leicesters, the N.Z. and A.L. Co. had things pretty well their own way. In Border and English classes, Marcroft's exhibits from Canterbury were passed over by the judges. In ploughs, Reid and Gray beat P. and D. Duncan, of Christchurch. Messrs Duncan took a well-deserved first prize for abroadcast sower, and Haxton and Beattie were first in harrows.
