♦ The annual show of sheep in connection with the above association was held recently at the wool warehonses of Messrs R. Goldsbrough and Co., Bourke-street west, Melbourne. Year after year the exhibits are increasing in excellence, and the latest show was superior in number and quality to any yet held by the association. In merinos the champion prize of ,£lO for the best ram in the show ; Sir Samuel "Wilson's 100 guineas, to be won three years, for best ram under 1\ years and , over 1\ years old ; Association's prize for rams of the same age ; Messrs Fisken, Gibson and Co., 10 guineas for best fourtooth ram ; and Messrs Goldsbroughs' 25 guinea cup for best ram were carried off by the Hon. Philip Russell, Carngham, with Beaufort by Melbourne. Charks Ayrie, Warranocke, was first in aged: rams ; first, second and third in the champion prizes; for ewes ; and first in nearly, all the other ewe classes. Dennis andWaltenhall wonfiwt prize for hogget ranto >*ii 3? seoind Tpnze for four-tooth rams. ...Obi the secondary and \ minor places? of 'the prize list occur the names of Sir Samuel Wilson, A. Buchanan, Titange, John "Wilson, 6ala, William, 'George and John Camming, F. W. Armitage, Woolbdmanata &c, ; In the V grassrfed -classes Thomas Eu'sseli and Co!, Baruna Plains, showed the bejsi'ram, and Hon. Robert Simeon, Langi Kal Kal, the best ewe. In the long-wool department the princijpal honori fell to A; and R; Urquart, Yangery Park, cxc- ■ "cutbrsofthe late Anthony Mackenzie, '-' Robert HoodjMerrang, -I. r-and-L.
